The Ministry of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources is the governmental body responsible for the supply of energy and management of natural resources of the State of Israel. The main objectives of the Ministry are to regulate and manages the supply of electricity, liquid fuels, natural gas, water, energy conservation, exploration and production of Oil and Gas, mineral and ore excavation and more.

The department in charge in the Ministry will be the Chief Scientist Office of the Energy Research and Development Department, in charge of promoting original technologies by way of supporting academia and fledgling startup companies, while focusing on projects for obtaining energy from renewable sources
